Wootton Wanderers 1sts

Wootton Wanderers Hockey Club is the newest hockey club in the county and possibly the country. Established in 2013 on the basis of back to hockey the club now boasts 2 ladies teams, 2 mens teams and a local mixed side Wanderers All Stars, that in our first season made it to the weekend finals of the England Hockey Mixed Plate and Ladies Vets/Masters.

We play our Saturday matches at Caroline Chisholm School, Wootton and have our after match teas at the Yeoman of England public house in the village centre.

Wanderers are the only club in the county that offer training twice a week for its whole membership, Tuesdays 1930-2100hrs at Northampton High School for Girls and Thursdays at Caroline Chisholm School 1845-2000hrs.

We are running junior training on Saturday mornings 1000-1115hrs for ages 5 -11 year olds which is always lots of fun. 12 and 13 year olds are encouraged to attend Thursday training, 13 to 18 year olds are encouraged to attend both Tuesday and Thursday training.

Socially the members always gather after training for reflection and refreshments. We have both a Christmas meal and great end of season Do’s which are fun and informal affairs. At least once a month the members organise a night out and coming soon is a night at the dogs fundraiser.

As a club we believe in providing hockey for all
